Brock joined Lion’s Head in 2015 and works primarily in African capital markets on behalf of the African Local Currency Bond Fund (www.alcbfund.com).

He provides expertise in financial institution assessment and regulation, microfinance and project finance. Before joining Lion’s Head, Brock was a consultant working closely with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and its national partners in Nigeria to strengthen the country’s microfinance and microinsurance sectors.

She has extensive experience in the development, construction and commissioning of greenfield wind farms and solar power plants, and also leading M&A processes in Europe, Latin America and North of Africa as she worked for Iberdrola for more than ten years. Earlier in her career she worked for a wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa and supported Spanish companies to develop their business in the Mexican market working at the Spanish Economic and Trade Office at the Embassy of Spain in Mexico.

Before that he worked for Goldman Sachs for thirteen years. His last position at Goldman was Chief Risk Officer of Goldman’s commercial bank. Before that he ran a credit trading desk in the commodities business, headed the Latin America Debt Capital Markets team, and was responsible for managing the firm’s Latin America sovereign and credit risk. Prior to joining Goldman, Chris taught economics at Boston College and Columbia University.

Chris has a Ph.D. (Economics) and an M.I.A. (International Affairs) from Columbia University and a B.A. from Oberlin College. He chairs the boards of Oberlin’s Board of Trustees, the Fund for Global Human Rights and the Institute for New Economic Thinking. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He spent his childhood living in Latin America and Spain.

He spent six years within the EEMEA emerging markets team, where he worked primarily in Greece, Hungary, Israel, Turkey and South Africa.

In 2002 Edge joined the European Sovereign Financing team, which he headed from 2006, providing vanilla and innovative financing solutions to Goldman Sachs’ leading franchise in this sector. During this time he worked on transactions in Belgium, Germany, and the UK.

He was the lead banker on a new multilateral development institution – The International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm), on behalf of the governments of France, Italy, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Sweden and the UK.

Edge received an MA in Biochemistry from Christ Church College at Oxford University.

Geoffrey is the Head of Fund Operations and oversees portfolio management across the firm’s Asset Management business. In this role, Geoffrey is responsible for the smooth operations of all the middle and back office activities.

Prior to joining Lion’s Head, Geoffrey worked at Old Mutual Securities, an affiliate company of UAP Old Mutual Group, as a Regional Equities Trader covering East Africa, having transitioned from a previous role as an investment analyst. He also worked with the wider Group (Old Mutual Kenya) in the financial management and reporting unit.

Prior to joining Lion’s Head, Geoffrey worked at Old Mutual Securities, an affiliate company of UAP Old Mutual Group, as a Regional Equities Trader covering East Africa, having transitioned from a previous role as an investment analyst. Olamipo developed a thorough understanding of the financial services sector, and facilitated investments in capital markets across Africa.

Prior to that, she served as Health Economist within the UK government focusing on the financing of the hospital sector within the NHS, and in academia at LSE Health, where she co-authored a major WHO-published report into diagnostics for infectious disease.

Before specialising in the health sector, Victoria spent a decade in investment banking at Barclays, Citigroup and UBS, in senior positions providing advisory and execution services to institutional investors in emerging and frontier equity markets, with particular expertise in South Africa, Russia, and the Middle East.

Victoria holds an MSc in Health Policy from the LSE, and a BEconSc in Economics from the University of Manchester.

Bim Hundal

1959-2017

Bim Hundal, who passed away in 2017, was Lion’s Head’s chairman and founder, and was instrumental in guiding the firm to where it is today. Bim was a friend and mentor to all of us at Lion’s Head and  the firm has grown into a flourishing, successful business thanks to his inspiration and the foundations that he helped lay.

 
