Lion's Head Global Partners is pleased to announce our selection as a counterparty for the African Development Bank Group's COVID Off-Grid Recovery Platform (CRP). The $50 million blended finance initiative, will provide relief and recovery capital to energy access businesses, supporting them through and beyond the pandemic. The platform is anchored on a partnership with three specialised energy access fund managers, including Lion’s Head Global Partners. Through these partners the platform will support energy access companies commercialising and deploying solar home systems, green mini-grids, clean cooking and other decentralised renewable energy solutions. LHGP will use the funds allocated to FEI Off-Grid Energy Access Fund to increase lending in local currency, which has proven to be particularly important in this period of currency volatility and convertibility challenges across Africa.
