James Doree

James is a finance and strategy professional specialising in corporate and structured finance in infrastructure and agriculture sectors.  

He has provided transaction support and capital markets analysis for investments in power, transport and water sectors across emerging and frontier markets.  His clients have included private investors, national governments and international financing institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank.  James is particularly familiar with the commercial arrangements around public-private partnerships (PPPs), as well as the design and structure of innovative financing vehicles for infrastructure development and finance. 

In African agriculture, James has experience of structuring investments and business strategies for social impact investors in commercial, outgrower and small-scale farming.

In the UK and Europe, he has advised developers, utilities, governments and regulators on corporate and regulatory finance issues, covering renewables, energy, rail and postal sectors.

He was previously a Senior Consultant at Cambridge Economic Policy Associates and, prior to that, worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Nairobi.

James has a Masters degree in Development Economics and a first class BA in History and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford.  He also has two postgraduate diplomas from the University of London.
